Eastern’s Purpose starts with honoring God in all we do by caring for people. Eastern Cares is where the rubber meets the road.

Eastern focuses on impacting the lives of our associates and those in our local and global communities. We partner with Corporate Chaplains of America to provide each location with a dedicated chaplain that visits weekly. Our Associate Emergency Fund, which is fully funded by Eastern associates, provides financial support in times of crisis. Eastern also offers each associate five paid days of leave they can use for volunteer service or mission-oriented work locally or around the world.

Values

Eastern promotes an atmosphere where people are cared for and encouraged to care for others. We are intentional about this through Awareness, Development, and Engagement. We challenge all of our supervisors and managers to "think like coaches." This means asking meaningful questions, providing ongoing feedback, and helping with both personal and professional goals. There are resources available to every associate, like RightNowMedia@Work that provide wisdom in different areas of life. Every associate has access to courses in finance, marriage, communication, leadership, parenting, and so much more. We engage our associates every week in The Eastern Way, which are the behaviors that drive our purpose "to honor God in all we do by: Caring for People, Continuously Improving, and Growing Profitably." 

Faith

Our purpose starts with "to honor God in all we do." Our faith is a driving force behind every action and starts with us Caring for People. In addition to our Emergency Fund, we have a Cares Fund and a Tanzania Fund that associates can donate to through payroll deductions. Our Cares Fund supports local nonprofits in our communities. The Tanzania Fund supports a children's home and a secondary school in Tanzania that Eastern helped to found in 2006. Our associates go on missions throughout the world touching the lives of people from all cultures and backgrounds.
